Stepanakert, Nagorno Karabakh

Ruins of a technical school in Stepanakert, built during Soviet times. In 1923, Joseph Stalin, the People’s Commissar for Nationalities and future leader of the Soviet Union, decided to integrate Nagorno Karabaj to the Soviet Republic of Azerbaijan as an autonomous region.
